What's an ASC and how do I check?
An Advantage+ Sales Campaign (ASC) is Meta's AI-run campaign type. Putting most of your budget in one ASC lets the algorithm pool its learnings and find buyers faster than several small campaigns splitting the signal.
How to check: in Ads Manager, look at the campaign level. An ASC is labeled Advantage+ Sales (or Advantage+ Shopping). Add up spend across campaigns and see if one ASC carries 70% or more.
What counts as retargeting?
A retargeting campaign speaks only to people who already know you: site visitors, product viewers, add-to-cart and checkout abandoners. It closes the demand your prospecting created.
How to check: look for a campaign or ad set targeting Website Custom Audiences (visitors, add-to-cart, initiated checkout). Roughly 15-20% of budget is the healthy range.
What do these mean, and why do they matter?
Lookalikes are audiences Meta builds to resemble a seed list. Interest stacking is piling AND-logic interests to narrow targeting. TOF/MOF/BOF silos are separate prospecting campaigns split by funnel stage.
In 2026 Meta treats detailed targeting as a suggestion and rewards broad audiences plus strong creative. Heavy manual targeting fragments the signal and caps scale. Lookalikes still earn a place on smaller accounts and as a testing seed.
Where do I find this?
Advantage+ placements lets Meta serve your ads wherever it finds cheap results: Feed, Reels, Stories, Marketplace, Search, and Audience Network. Manual exclusions shrink the auction and push CPMs up.
How to check: at the ad set level, look at Placements. If it says Advantage+ placements and nothing is unchecked, you're set.
What are CAPI and Advanced Matching?
Conversions API (CAPI) sends events to Meta server-to-server, recovering conversions the browser pixel loses to iOS and ad blockers. Advanced Matching passes hashed customer details (email, phone) so Meta can match more of those events to real accounts.
How to check: Meta Events Manager then your dataset then Settings. CAPI shows as a connected server integration; Advanced Matching has its own on/off toggle.
Not sure what this is or where to find it?
Event Match Quality (EMQ) is Meta's 0-10 score for how well it can match your Purchase events to real accounts. Higher means cleaner signal, and 7+ is strong. If you are not sure, enter your best guess or 0.
How to find it:
- Open Meta Events Manager.
- Under Data Sources, select your Pixel or dataset.
- Open the Overview or Events tab.
- Find the Purchase event. The number in the Event Match Quality column (0-10) is your score.
Enter 0 if you don't know.
Where do I find this?
Your total Meta ad spend in a typical month, across every campaign. In Ads Manager, set the date range to the last 30 days and read the total Amount Spent.
What counts as an active ad?
The number of individual ads currently delivering, not campaigns or ad sets. In Ads Manager, open the Ads tab and filter Delivery to Active. Different creatives count separately; the same creative resized to 1:1, 4:5 and 9:16 counts as one.
What is frequency and where do I find it?
Frequency is the average number of times each person saw your ads in the window. Above about 2.5 over 30 days means you're serving the same people again and again, which is where fatigue and rising CPMs start.
How to check: in Ads Manager, set the date range to the last 30 days, add the Frequency column, and read it at the account level.
Enter 0 if you don't know.
What's an emotional angle?
The feeling a creative leads with, separate from its format. Andromeda reads sentiment, so a spread of angles keeps your ads from collapsing into a single entry in the auction.
Count the distinct feelings across your active ads: assured (social proof), worried (problem-aware), inspired (transformation), amused (humor), curious (teach something). Four or more is healthy.
For example: assured (social proof), worried (problem-aware), inspired (transformation), amused (humor), curious (teach something).
What's an asset type?
The production format of the creative. Meta reads a static, a UGC video, a founder video, a carousel and a Reel as genuinely different ads, which is what keeps Andromeda from compressing your account.
Count how many you have live right now: static image, UGC video, founder-led video, carousel, Reels/vertical. Three or more is healthy.
